Today marks the partnerships between YellowBlocks and RMIT University (with main departments: RMIT CODE and RMIT BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATION HUB)

We both see that in Vietnam, there are huge demands for blockchain training and a skills gap in the market that needs to be addressed.

RMIT x YellowBlocks would collaborate for the following objectives:
– Blockchain awareness for public in Vietnam
– Collaborate with government and private sector to provide research and insights about the feasibility of blockchain applications
– Provide the advance blockchain courses to prepare workforce of the future
– Enhance quality conversations (through meet-up, seminars, with Q&A sections)

From 2017, RMIT announced the objective to become the world’s leading blockchain university.

Some distinctive blockchain initiatives from RMIT:
– Three online Blockchain courses aimed at executives, professionals and those looking to future-proof their careers.
– A major industry partnership with DB Results to pioneer innovative healthcare solutions using blockchain technology.
– An initiative to provide students with blockchain-enabled digital credentials in partnership with leading digital credentialing platform, Credly.
– Establish a hub for blockchain, touted as being the world’s first research centre focused on the social science of blockchain.

Established The RMIT Blockchain Innovation

The university in September 2018 established the RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub, touted as being the world’s first research centre focused on the social science of blockchain. The team of researchers in economics, political-economy, organisational theory, law, sociology, politics and communications. They work on cryptoeconomics, business strategy and adaptation to blockchain technologies, mapping the blockchain economy, and identifying the public policy challenges that will hold back or accelerate this economic revolution.

Run Blockchain Courses

They have recently launched three courses: Developing Blockchain Strategy, Designing Blockchain Solutions, Developing Blockchain Applications. The courses have been co-designed by RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub team of researchers, thought leaders and multiple experts in the crypto-economics. 

“Much of the courses are designed to help executives and business leaders to understand not just how this new technology works, and understanding what’s actually behind it, but also how it reflects business models and business strategy.” Jason Potts, the director of the Blockchain Innovation Hub.

Australian Government Relationship

Federal Minister for Digital Transformation, Michael Keenan visited RMIT Blockchain Hub in November 2018.

The topic for meeting is the future of blockchain technology for businesses and government in Australia. The meeting also covered potential policy reforms to enable greater participation in the blockchain economy, with a focus on social services, public administration, primary industries and trade.
